Mia Farrow’s Haircut

Long before she was offered grandmother roles in the movies, Mia Farrow played a young waif-like creature named Allison MacKenzie in Peyton Place; a popular 1960s soap opera.

So popular, in fact, that the ratings dropped when she left the show.

When Miss Farrow arrived on the set one morning with her long hair cropped short, panic on the set ensued.

Frenzied writers made changes to the script. The character had suffered an amnesia-induced nervous breakdown, hence the hair cut!

As a result of this furor, producer Paul Monash penned the following letter to Miss Farrow:
