45 Years Ago Today.......
Miss Bobbie Gentry
Walked that guitar
And that hair
And that
Into the studio in the basement of the Capitol Records Tower on Vine Street in Hollywood and laid down the best damn country/pop crossover hit ever....
"Ode To Billy Joe".
Thank you Fancy girl.

Hair Whip, Anyone?
If you don't remember how fabulous Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit (Day-twa) were when they paired up for the best years of Fahey's Shakespeares Sister then you have missed a great deal.
Besides making great music and incredible videos (this one is from 1989), they also had flawless style sense when it came to their hair and fashion. While Detroit used her Louise Brooks bob to the best of her advantage, Fahey's hair ranged from her Banarama short shag in rave red, to all black with a horse tail fall, to fabulous sausage curls before the duo broke up because Fahey couldn't share the limelight. Unfortunatly, without Detroit (or even the other two Banana's) Fahey's career and personal life (she divorced from Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics) have floundered.
Of special interest to HHoF fans is the way Fahey whips her hairpiece (and then in reverse shots, it whips back). Enjoy darlings!
