Teddy Antolin styles Bowie for a 1987 show in New Zealand
Teddy Antolin was responsible for Bowie's Ziggy Stardust look, amongst other styles. "[Bowie] with full-on makeup, looked unearthly, another sex and there was something about David that transcended fashion and he made it unique and you wanted to be like that," he shared.
He said of Bowie, "He was very focused and he knew everything about fashion, hair and makeup – it was fun. I would color his hair with blonde streaks and sometimes make it bolder and he never complained. He understood why."
Teddy’s celebrity clientele included David Bowie, Iman, Jackie Collins, Geena Davis, Liza Minnelli, Lolita Davidovich, Raquel Welch, Bryan Adams, Joe Dallesandro, Sharon Stone and B.D. Wong. Teddy also appeared on Lifetime Television Network doing a one-hour makeover series, and he designed hair for Raquel Welch Signature Collection of wigs and hair additions.
