Those of us of a certain age remember the Madge the Manicurist for Palmolive dishwashing detergent back in the days before Dawn took over the dishwashing world.  Along with Josephine the Plumber, they helped many of of us youngsters whose mothers didn't work, understand that women could do more than iron and grocery shop or have an occasional card game.
