The Pompadour

Specifically the mile-high white pompadour of the “White Knight of Soul”… Wayne Cochran.






Wayne has since cut his hair and now runs the Voice for Jesus ministry with his wife in Miami.

    The Bride looks terrified... Perhaps thinking of the night ahead of her... *Has he bleached down there too?*... Either that or she is angry that he has more height and volume than her her own doo. *All those hours of teasing and laqurering totally wasted... and it is meant to be my special day... Bastard*...

    I don't know why I never thought of this! I even have Wayne on a little sidebar on my blog, as "Best White Man 'Do." I'm a huge Wayne fan. Elvis stole his whole cape act from him!

      Show me the earliest photo of Wayne wearing a cape and I will show you an earlier one of Elvis wearing one. Show me a photo of Wayne wearing a jumpsuit and I will show you and earlier one of Elvis wearing one. Heck, I will give you half the info. First Elvis jumpsuit? January 26, 1970, International Hotel, Las Vegas Nevada. First Elvis cape? Sept 6, 1971, International Hotel, Las Vegas.
