My last apartment in DC in the mid 80s featured one of these. I found it at a junk shop on 18th in Adams Morgan and walked/rolled it up the street two blocks to get it home! It sat in my living room and was used as a six foot tall mail holder, except during the holiday season when it was adorned with lights and ornaments.
