Heaven's Just a Hairdo Away

I'd been saving this gorgeous image of Dolly Parton for a later post. Thanks to MJ, I'm now aware that it's Dolly's b-day! I had no idea. Isn't she beautiful?!

I don't know where this image was found. A friend emailed it to me as he has come to believe I am an arbiter of good taste when it comes to big hair. If you know where the image was found, do let us know in the comments.

  1. Oh, duh. I see this was already posted some time ago. Well, T.S. (that means Tough Sugar), Look at Dolly again!

I believe it came from Moeller Talent INC.

  2. That's okay, Miss Lucite. You can never have enough Dolly.

Just like you can never have enough Farrah, right, AyeM8y?

  3. Mean Dirty Pirate-- I looked for an appropriate link to the Moeller agency and couldn't find that. As a general rule, I try to be mindful of linking to source material. But thanks!

True--never enough Farrah or Dolly. So many hairdos, so little time.

  4. I know honey I was just teasing. I respect your diligence for giving credit to the original sources. I think this particular picture has been around on the internet since Al Gore invented it.

I'd like to propose that Miss Lucite be the "Official Stylist of Dolly Parton" here at the Hall.

  6. Norma--Oooh! SOPA & PIPA gonna kick your ass. Don't forget to sign those petitions. If they pass that, we're all doomed.

    1. Boxy, if this ridiculous bill would pass, it would just force the Internets underground, which currently, from what I can tell, THHoF operates out of an abandoned basement, anyway.

  8. One must point out to The Pirate that Mistress MJ has posted numerous (and all) previous posts on Dolly (not to mention her adoration of Dolly) and therefore is the "Official Stylist of Dolly Parton" here at the Hall.

Just as The Pirate is the "Official Stylist of Farrah Fawcett" here at the Hall.

Meaning that others may post photos of said clients but must make note that the client belongs to said stylists.

Perhaps you couldn't read the legal document after Margaret smeared Kreml all over it.

  9. Where are my manners?

    WELCOME MIMI!

I was so busy slapping The Pirate with a summons that I neglected to thank you.

  10. What's a little Kreml schmear among friends, huh, huh?

"Gimme that bottle back, now, I mean it!"

  11. If there was a "like" button here (which there should be), I would be in the mood to "like" your comment about THHoF being underground. Really, aren't the best things in life often found in an abandoned basement?

Also-duly noted. I shall not try to lure Dolly away from you, MJ. Nonetheless, I beg of you to allow me to duet with her on "Jolene" at some point when she's at the salon. We would be so good together! I just know it. (Then, I'll dutifully sweep under your chair. Like I always do.)

    1. Boxy, thank you, but liking me (however, licking me is okay) on THHoF might well land you locked into the storage closet, and your tip jar emptied.

Sorry, but the basement scene is best navigated by the snarkiest of beasts.

  12. Carrying on a conversation with an empty chair while snipping my scissors in the air and brandishing a blow dryer might look to most observers as if I’m schizophrenic which of course we are but actually Farrah Fawcett is sitting there as I continue to do her hair even in the afterlife!

Much like MJ is the stylist of Dolly Parton who is not actually sitting in her chair but rather a Styrofoam head painted to look like her as MJ in reality is Ms. Parton’s wig stylist.

*Wanders over to Jason's karaoke station and requests "Jolene" and "Islands in the Stream" for next numbers*
